Confessions of a Planner Junkie

Confessions of a Planner Junkie

I have a confession to make...I'm a PLANNER JUNKIE! I love, love, love to buy planners. I bought my first beautifully decorated Lily Pulitzer planner last year to help me keep track of my meetings, tasks and other responsibilities at work. Primarily because my memory sucks!

The Lily Pulitzer planner was like my gateway drug. Now every time I go to Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Paper Source or Barnes & Nobles, anywhere for that matter, I look for day planners. I haven't always used my day planner as effectively as I should but since I started blogging I've made better use of it.

I use the Epic Blog content planner to map out my blog ideas and themes for the month. However, since I can't take the content planner everywhere; the day planner is used to keep track of my daily blog responsibilities. Each week I list the following:

  • Upcoming Twitter chats; in addition to key takeaways from chat
  • Ideas for upcoming blog posts...I usually list 1-3 reasons why I should write about the topic.
  • Upcoming holidays
  • Social media to-dos (i.e.: follow 3 people on Twitter; post 2-3 times on Instagram, etc.)
  • Articles and/or blog posts that I need to read
  • Blog analytics
  • Social media analytics
  • Social media goals
  • Facebook groups to check in with
  • My goals for the week and month
  • Ideas for affiliates
  • Content posted on blogher.com

I also keep any upcoming appointments for my daughter or pets in the planner as well. Since it has become my daily bible I put these type of appointments in there so I don't forget about them.

I've even converted my daughter to a planner person. For her birthday, I bought her a ban.dō day planner to use in middle school.  She loves the stickers, but I love the idea of it helping her recognize the importance of being organized and keeping track of her work.

It comes with really cute and fun stickers.  Date Night for her is really mommy/daughter night. No dating in her future.

Planner junkies can't pass up a pretty planner.

I bought the "I AM VERY BUSY" ban.dō planner for my colleague's first day at work. And because I think ban.dō planners are so darn cute I bought myself one too! I really don't need it but as I said before I'm a planner junkie. It's just an addiction I'll have to learn to live with. Could be worse.

What kind of planner do you use to organize your life or your blog? Please share what you use as I maybe interested in buying another planner. LOL!  If you still need a planner check out the beauties listed below. Also, if you have a middle school girl I highly recommend the ban.dō planner for her.
