12 Essential Fashion Pieces

There was a point in my life when I LOVED to shop. I looked forward to payday so I could promptly spend all of money at the GAP. Don't judge me...at the time I was single, childless and that I was my favorite store.
Nowadays, I primarily shop for my daughter. If I do any shopping for myself it's mostly to buy essential pieces. As a single-mom, I often think about all the other things I should spend my money on; filling my closet with new clothes isn't on my list of priorities. Sigh!
On the rare occasions when I do shop for myself, I usually purchase essential pieces; like a colorful dress, neutral color pants or jeans, tees and the piece de resistance is always cardigan. (I have a cardigan obsession!) These items are interchangeable and allow me to create multiple looks for work.
My favorite stores are the Gap, Banana Republic, J.Crew and Ann Taylor. I'm a die hard fan of these stores because the pieces I buy are well made. I have low rise Gap jeans, J Crew cardigans and Banana Republic slacks that are almost as old my daughter. (Now that I'm reading this sentence out loud, I'm not sure that's a good thing.)
